Happy Accidents (with correct photo)

This is the correct photo to show the effect of the watered down Aladdin IndigoBlu English Cottage Garden paint on watercolour paper and then covered with crumpled clingfilm. Fabulous effect but not captured by the photo unfortunately Happy Crafting love Su xxx

Happy Accidents

Here I am one month since my last blog post. Must try harder! Today I watered down some Aladdin IndigoBlu English Cottage Garden Artists Paint to try and coat the inside of an ornate glass bottle I have. It didn't work so what was I going to do with all this watered down paint? Well I splodged it all over some watercolour paper and placed some crumpled clingfilm on top and left it to dry. WOW and WOW! The photo has not captured the wonderful pink shimmer on the paper. The effect is stunning. So what to do with the paint still left in the jug? I used two paper towels to soak up the paint and wow again something stunning to use in my art journalling. The photo doesn't show up the shimmer and shine but it is exquisite. Second happy accident happened when I stamped 'Happy Birthday' in black Versafine ink on white card and just before it had dried I accidentally smudged it - urgh - so I gently smudged all of it and hey presto I had a lovely distressed Happy Birthday. I gave my friend the card before I remembered I hadn't taken a photo. But not a bad day after all Happy crafting everyone love Su xxx

Well I found it (with a little help)

Hi Everybody

I have found my way back to my Blog with a little help (well actually a BIG HELP) from the lovely Jenny Marples. So I just have to come up with a more adventurous title and work out how to link it to posts and I will be sorted.!!!

Just to see if it works I shall now try and insert two pictures of my inspiration for the IndigoBlu Challenge 'A Sketch':

This one was created by using white embossing powder with the IndigoBlu Snowflake Lace stamp on purple card which was then layered on a white base card edged with Violet Stazon ink.  IndigoBlu Rockin Robin and IndigoBlu Merry Christmas Circle were stamped with Violet Stazon ink on IndigoBlu White Perfect Stamping Card and edged with the Violet Stazon ink. Then layered with a piece of white lace and a piece of white card also edged in Violet Sazon ink to create the completed card.

Inspiration No 2:

For this card I used a piece of cream card as the base. I stamped IndigoBlu's gorgeous Elizabeth Bennet and on a small piece of cream card as well as IndigoBlu's Summer Lovin in Coffee Archival ink. I used a Charcoal White pencil to create faux stitching around  brown card before layering it to the cream base card.
I then added cream ribbon before layering the two stamped images and adding brown paper flowers which I ad in my stash. I did add IndigoBlu Soft Copper Glitter to the centre of the flowers for added sparkle.

Well I hope this blog post has worked as it will now be the first of many.

Thanks for stopping by
